6 Days Adventure Elgon Hike

Elgon is located near Mbale in the Eastern part of Uganda and one of Uganda’s oldest physical features. The. It covers 1,145 sq km and was named after Mt Elgon (4,321m) to its Wagagai peak

Day 1: Kampala – Mt Elgon.
Drive via Jinja to Mbale the foot of Mount Elgon. Have lunch and proceed for a community walk to explore the Bagishu’s life style. Dinner and overnight at Lacam Lodge.

Day 2: Sasa River Camp- Mude Cave
Start hike early in the morning, Trail head via the Sasa trail and then descend via the Piswa trail taking approximately 4-5 hourshours. From Budadiri take on the trail that leads to Sasa River Camp and this may take approximately 2 hours. Have Lunch.

Day 3: Mude Cave- Wagagai Peak
Early in the morning, walk via Sasa River camp, climb to Sasa Patrol Hut (2 hrs).  From Sasa Patrol Hut take on one hour climb to Mude Cave campsite. Dinner and overnight at Mude Cave.

Day 4: Wagagai Peak – Hunters Cave Camp
Early in the morning, from Mude Cave climb to Wagagai Peak (4,321 m).This takes approximately 4 hours. After resting return to Mude Cave for an Overnight Meal plan.

Day 5: Hunters Cave Camp – Piswa Patrol Hut
From Mude Cave descend to the Caldera and Hot Springs this down is normally slow about 4-5 hrs. Another 3 hours down slope to Piswa Camp from the Caldera. Meal plan.

Day 6: Descend Piswa Patrol Hut –Kampala
From the Hunter’s Cave Camp trail head to Piswa Patrol Hut. This takes about 6 hours.End of the Hiking Safari.

The price includes:-Accommodation and meals during the hike , Transfers with 4wd vehicle, Park Entrance fees, Professional Guide fees, -Porters 25kg per person, -Professional cook and Park Entrance fees

The price excludes: Flight fares, Personal insurance, Equipment for the hike, Extra Luggage,(extra 25kg per person) and expense of personal nature.

Note: Climbers must be prepared to walk for up to 8 hours every day via steep cliff and muddy paths. Climbers must bring along their own climbing gear or hire it at the base camp
